Drawing deeply from the riches of church history, BB Warfield exhorts us see Christ as Redeemer and example. While we generally intuit this first role of Christ, Redeemer, we can often disregard the ethical implications of Christ who is also our example. Where does this lead us? To follow Christ in the way of self-sacrifice, humility, and looking to the good of our neighbor. As Christ was “led by His love for others into the world,” so ought we be oriented toward the world, for the sake of Christ and his kingdom.
